GI&S

Our GI&S teams use the latest and best technologies and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software to provide our clients with the most efficient and cost-effective GIS solutions for a wide range of geospatial challenges. From government agencies monitoring environmental trends to retailers boosting their supply chains, our GI&S professionals are capable and ready to assist in solving increasingly complicated challenges. Our capabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Zoning: Many communities need maps for specialized purposes (e.g., natural resource boundaries, maps of the water system, cadastral maps, zoning maps, etc.) our GI&S teams can assist.
  • City Planning: Our GI&S teams use GIS in City planning that enables spatial analysis and modeling, which contribute to a range of important city planning tasks. These tasks include site selection, land suitability analysis, land use and transport modeling, the identification of planning action areas, and impact assessments.
  • Geodatabase management: Using the best technologies and our COTS software, our GI&S teams maintain different forms of databases used to update data, serve out data to users, and provide web map services for visualization and planning. 
  • Feature data collection: Our GI&S teams are trained in feature data collection and revision with capabilities to define schema, rules, and symbols for feature-specific validation adaptable to any feature-extraction specification.

UAV

Our battery-operated drone is capable of collecting 750,000 points-per-second puck and attaining an elevation of up to 100 meters above the ground surface using 32 individual lasers. With this, we can collect data through aerial cloud density or corridor 3-dimensional rendering, create a photogrammetric 3D point cloud, and digitally render surface/elevation models.

Terrestrial

To complete our understanding of an area, Helion employs a Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) system to provide the most accurate model. This system includes a multi-station adjustment model that allows us to collect survey-grade data of distances up to 2.5Km and can be used to identify any potential issues.

USV/Bathymetry

Our vehicle uses a dual-frequency echo sounding system, which not only accurately collects in space data, clear sonar photometrics, but also calculates the sediment build up within any body of water and continually records water quality data (electrical conductivity, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, algae content, and turbidity) while in use.
